Puerto Madero is the youngest and most elegant neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, a corner where port history merges with the most sophisticated modernity. Its former brick warehouses, transformed into high-end gastronomic spaces, house a culinary offering as varied as it is exquisite: from traditional Argentine parrillas to international cuisine that wins over palates from all over the world.

Walking along its wide pavements beside the docks is a pleasure in itself, but the experience rises to another level when you discover its restaurants with privileged views. The iconic Puente de la Mujer, that white sculpture that seems to dance over the water, becomes the perfect backdrop for your meals.

Puerto Cristal

Puerto Cristal is strategically located near Puente de la Mujer, with a terrace overlooking the river that invites you to enjoy the best postcard views of Puerto Madero. With a capacity for 300 diners, this gastronomic icon stands out for its specialisation in fresh fish and seafood, being the only restaurant in Buenos Aires serving fresh lobster.

The experience at Puerto Cristal goes beyond the food; its wine list includes more than 580 labels of wines, champagnes and sparkling wines, with a sommelier available to pair each dish. A gluten-free menu is available. On weekdays at lunchtime, they offer an executive menu.

In 1995, when Puerto Madero was a series of abandoned docks, two immigrants opened this restaurant, which began as a simple pizzeria serving sharing platters. Today, with more than 29 years of history, Puerto Cristal is a living witness to the transformation of the most modern neighbourhood in Buenos Aires. Reservations can be made through their website.

La Parolaccia Trattoria

La Parolaccia Trattoria, in the heart of Puerto Madero, is an excellent option for those who want to enjoy beautiful views, as its large windows face directly onto the waterfront promenade and the river. This Italian restaurant stands out for its absolute authenticity, with more than three decades of history offering genuine Italian flavours, with handmade pasta that rivals the best Roman trattorias.

What makes La Parolaccia special is its warm, family atmosphere, perfect for everything from a relaxed lunch to a romantic dinner. The menu includes antipasti, fresh and filled pasta, and traditional dishes prepared with recipes passed down from generation to generation. The dishes are slightly more expensive than those in other places in the area, but the quality is excellent, offering great value overall.

They offer a lunchtime menu including starter, main course, dessert and a drink at a more accessible price so everyone can enjoy the experience.

A curious detail that few people know is that the name “La Parolaccia” means “the swear word” in Italian, inspired by a family restaurant in the traditional Trastevere district of Rome. It is open throughout the day, and reservations are accepted.

Cabaña Las Lilas

Cabaña Las Lilas offers an incredible view of the Puerto Madero dock. Recognised by the Michelin Guide 2023/2024 and 2025, this temple of Argentine grilling combines culinary excellence with timeless elegance. What distinguishes it from other restaurants in the area is its unique origin, as it emerged from the partnership between the owners of the renowned Rubaiyat restaurants in São Paulo and Estancias y Cabaña Las Lilas S.A., a fourth-generation family company specialising in breeding top-quality cattle.

The open-view grill is a spectacle in itself, with premium cuts such as ribeye, tenderloin and rump cap winning over even the most demanding palates.

The wine list is exceptional, featuring hundreds of labels carefully selected by the in-house sommelier.

The New York Times highlighted it as one of the 10 best restaurants in the world, and personalities such as Roge

Like other restaurants in the area, they offer an executive menu from Monday to Friday at lunchtime, including starter, main course, dessert and a drink. Portions are generally not designed for sharing, although the staff provide all necessary clarifications.

Sorrento has more than 90 years of gastronomic tradition, and when it opened its Puerto Madero branch in 1995, only the river could be seen. Today, it is both a witness to and part of the development of Buenos Aires’ most modern neighbourhood, opening every day from midday until midnight. Reservations can be made through their website.

AlPorto Ristorante

AlPorto Ristorante, located right in front of the Puerto Madero dock, allows you to enjoy one of the neighbourhood’s most emblematic views while savouring authentic Italian cuisine. The venue features outdoor seating on its terrace, ideal for making the most of sunny Buenos Aires days while watching the port activity and the flow of people along the waterfront. The menu ranges from freshly made pizzas to handmade pasta, with the Grigliatta being one of the most requested dishes.

As this is a highly touristic area, prices are slightly higher than in other Buenos Aires restaurants, and sometimes the food may not be significantly superior, but the views are incredible.

AlPorto operates from midday until late at night, making it one of the options in Puerto Madero where you can enjoy Italian cuisine until the early hours. Perfect for those dinners that stretch on over conversation and good wine.
