Recently, wine shops and wine bars have not only gained recognition but also surged in popularity. That’s why it’s no surprise that there are more and more places dedicated to wine, where you can also participate in tastings and enhance your knowledge.

Wine stores, unlike supermarkets, are spaces where you can receive advice from experts who can suggest which wine is best for each occasion. Moreover, you’ll discover a selection of premium beverages and products that are often hard to come by, including unique varieties of whiskey and gin.

In these places, they offer a variety of labels and innovative proposals. Furthermore, you’ll encounter an array of high-end beverages and exclusive products that are typically challenging to find, featuring distinctive varieties of whiskey and gin, glasses, decanters and wine accessories. The possibility of personalised attention and advice on drinks makes this shopping experience incomparable.

Currently, wine bars are much more than places to buy drinks, since many of them have a space to enjoy a glass of wine, or to attend a tasting and learn more about its composition.

As a counterpart to the abundant offering of breweries and bars, wine bars offer a more intimate and select experience, in modern and elegant spaces, which are truly a feast for the senses. Here, we present our curated selection of the finest wine shops in Buenos Aires, allowing you to explore the city’s premium wine stores.

Vinology

You will find Vinology in the heart of Las Cañitas district, a wine store designed as a space where they promote interaction between the customer and the wine world, going one step beyond the sale of wines.

Their avant-garde style design stands out with a modern and urban aesthetic.

You will notice that wood predominates in its decor, complemented by an eye-catching chandelier that takes centre stage in the living room. Additionally, the wine bar features spacious tables designed for hosting tastings and events, creating an inviting atmosphere for all. In Vinology, the wide range of wines includes offerings from the largest wineries to the most sought-after small producers, providing an excellent selection for purchasing wine in Buenos Aires. The distinctive feature of this wine bar is that the advice is provided by María Mendizábal, one of its owners, who was awarded Best Sommelier in Argentina in 2006.

Vinology boasts a team of sommeliers who elevate the experience of purchasing a bottle of wine or savouring a glass into an opportunity to explore the fascinating world of wine while enjoying a delightful moment.

On their calendar, you will find tastings, training classes, winery presentations and other activities. They offer a comfortable space for tastings with a capacity for 34 people seated, where tastings are held every week.

Aldo’s

This firm, by Argentine sommelier Aldo Graziani, had its beginning in the emblematic neighbourhood of San Telmo. As it continued growing, Aldo’s moved to Palermo, featuring two restaurants and a bar in this renowned Buenos Aires neighbourhood, offering an online store as well.

Aldo’s Restaurant experience combines quality wines and a delicious menu that you can enjoy on its terrace. The exclusive attention of sommeliers, an incredible selection of wines from small producers and elaborate Mediterranean-inspired dishes are part of Aldo´s trademark.

Match a glass of Aldo’s Wine Bar’s unique sommelier selection of wines: choose from the antipasti, the main dishes or try one of their artisan sandwiches. In both the Wine Bar and the Restaurant we recommend you make a reservation to taste Argentine wines in Buenos Aires in an ideal ambience.

Aldo’s mission is to provide an exceptional wine experience with over 600 labels, available at the same price in the cellar as at your table. They also host a diverse agenda of tastings, perfectly paired with delectable dishes from our kitchen, which specialises in high-quality Italian-Argentine cuisine.

An interesting fact about Aldo’s is that the wines in its catalogue were tasted blind by Aldo and the winery team. In addition, Aldo Graziani has his own wine distributor that markets projects by great winemakers: El Garage de Aldo.
