From popular breweries to the best brewpubs and lesser-known taprooms, you will find options to suit all tastes. Here we present some of the city’s best craft breweries, so that you can start (or continue) your beer journey in Buenos Aires.
Desarmadero
Since 2017, this Buenos Aires brewery has been a reference point for craft beer lovers and is one of the most popular spots for both connoisseurs and the curious, as it brings together the best producers in the country. Additionally, they frequently host beer and cocktail events that attract many fans of the beer world. Desarmadero has two locations that are opposite each other, on two corners of the Palermo neighbourhood, where they offer a wide variety of styles, from the most popular and well-known to the most innovative and exotic, across its 41 engines.
Not only can you sample their craft beers on-site, but you’ll also find cans and bottles available for takeaway. Desarmadero offers many local and international options, including varieties such as IPA, Pilsner, Porter, Stout, and Dubbel, among others. Another distinctive feature of this beer bar is its gastronomic offering. Their menu includes several types of dishes, such as empanadas, platters, and the must-haves in any craft brewery in Buenos Aires: hamburgers. Among their most requested items to accompany the craft beers are the ossobuco empanada, chard fritters, and lamb burgers. Furthermore, you will find various dessert options, TACC-free and vegan choices, as well as a children’s menu.
A noteworthy aspect of Desarmadero is its incredible murals and a sculpture by the artist Alfredo Segatori, a pioneer of urban art in Buenos Aires, which invites you to a unique experience that combines art with the tasting of the best craft beers.

El Galpón de Tacuara
Located in the San Fernando neighbourhood, El Galpón de Tacuara is characterised by its wide variety of craft beer styles created by brewmaster Gabriel Furnari. Their craft beers are distinguished by using excellent ingredients such as Belgian malt and North American hops, which provide distinct flavour and quality. Their dedication has garnered important international awards, positioning them as one of the most popular breweries in Buenos Aires. This chain of craft breweries has 5 branches in different parts of the city and one more in the city of Rosario in Santa Fe. The first to open its doors was the one in San Fernando, and currently, The Tacuara Shed has locations in the neighbourhoods of Devoto, Palermo, Belgrano, and Pacheco.
If you plan to taste craft beer, you cannot miss their Sanfer IPA, with intense citrus and floral aromas, and their Jim Morrison, which combines complex roasted malts with a dose of classic bourbon whiskey, offering a high aromatic load and great drinkability. If you prefer red, you will love the Irish Red Ale, which is light and balanced. To accompany their delicious craft beers, El Galpón de Tacuara offers a menu filled with delectable tapas such as risotto croquettes, potato bombs, or patatas bravas. Additionally, you will find a wide variety of burgers to pair with your chosen beer.

Growlers
With 7 branches distributed throughout the city, Growlers has become one of the best breweries in Buenos Aires. Each of its branches exudes a youthful spirit, evident in the urban setting with incredible murals and touches of colour that contrast with the exposed bricks.
At Growlers, you can always try new varieties of IPA and NEIPA, choose between classics like Honey or Irish, or be adventurous with more daring alternatives offered on their taps. And if you wish, as the name suggests, you can always fill your Growler and take home some of the most delicious craft beer in Buenos Aires.
Their menu offers a wide variety of classic foods to accompany a good craft beer, catering to different palates and preferences with plant-based, and vegan options. On the Growlers menu, you will find homemade and delicious burgers, special sandwiches, various snack options, pizzas, and salads. During Happy Hour, you will also find combos, such as a mushroom empanada and osso buco with a classic pint of your choice. Here you will discover craft beers of all kinds, from classic options that we all love to bolder flavours that follow new trends. Charlone
This craft brewery is located in Colegiales, in an old house with mosaic floors, wooden openings, and an internal courtyard with a colonial feel and vines that also house its factory. Charlone is technically a brewpub, as the factory and the bar come together for an incredible beer-tasting experience in Buenos Aires. Its distinguishing feature is that, unlike other craft breweries in Buenos Aires, it only offers its production (and this one boasts very original names).
You cannot miss trying: Soñé Que La Hacía, a very light lager with cereal notes; Reina, the house Ale with fruity and resinous notes; or Venus del Trópico, a Juicy Pale Ale with low bitterness and a wealth of aroma. At Charlone , the cuisine is homemade and designed to pair well with the different varieties of craft beer they offer. To eat, they have snack options such as potatoes or nachos, empanadas, pizzas, and the inevitable sandwiches and hamburgers.
Charlone also stands out from the more central and bustling craft breweries in Buenos Aires. Its internal patio invites you to enjoy a private conversation with friends while savouring a delicious craft beer.

Rabieta
Rabieta is one of the best breweries in Buenos Aires, where you can taste a variety of well-thought-out and high-quality combinations. The story of Rabieta dates back to 2016 when a group of friends teamed up with the idea of creating domestically produced, chemical-free, artisanal beer. The following year, this Buenos Aires craft brewery opened its doors inside the Palermo Hippodrome with four incredible beers: Golden, American IPA, Dry Stout, and Red Irish Ale.
In 2018, they expanded their premises by adding a BrewHouse, allowing customers to witness the brewing process from within the bar. They inaugurated a new bar with 20 taps and more than 15 of their styles. Furthermore, that year they added a production plant: Pilar Brewery, where the brewing process was perfected, and Rabieta began bottling and canning its craft beers, offering the five styles of Irish Red Ale, IPA, Golden, Red Honey, and Wee Heavy.
La París, their location on Avenida Libertador, recalls the name of an old confectionery that once occupied the site and features beautiful decor along with an imposing building and a view of the Hippodrome. You can choose from their various offerings and enjoy one of the best beer tastings in Buenos Aires, as their styles are unmatched. We recommend trying the Red Honey and the American IPA, which you are sure to love. Additionally, the diverse dishes on their menu are delicious and generous, including desserts. The service is excellent, and you can ask for pairing suggestions to complement your beer.

Strange Brewing
The story of Strange Brewing began in California, when Norwegian student Torstein Hoset met Argentine student Ramiro Galperin at university, and they began brewing beer informally for the parties they hosted for their friends in the house they shared. Their craft beers gained popularity, leading them to consider opening their craft brewery, along with two other partners. With a well-conceived business plan, in 2017, Strange Brewing opened the doors of its brewpub in Buenos Aires.
The options they offer on tap are varied and include styles such as Lagers, IPAs, NEIPAs, and barrel-aged Sours. With very original names and novel combinations, it is impossible to decide which one to try first. We recommend the Conquista Mapache (Juicy Pale Ale), succulent and with very high drinkability, and Fiesta de Seals (Festbier), made with German Pilsner malt and Argentine hops.
At the taproom, you will not only find “rare and extreme” beers, but the dishes they serve pair beautifully with their delicious flavours. The menu is always changing, designed based on fresh seasonal products to complement their craft beers. Their website is also worth a mention, as it is very creative and invites you to become part of its (strange) world. C.A.M.U.S. (Club Atlético Mapaches Unidos y Soberanos) offers its members innovative and extreme proposals, ideal for enthusiasts of craft beer and its multiple possibilities.

Gepetto
Gepetto is one of the best breweries in Buenos Aires and has become the flagship beer bar in Villa Devoto. Although this neighbourhood has numerous craft beer offerings, Gepetto stands out for its board full of top-tier options, featuring new products and beers that have won medals in various competitions, such as El Fruto’s Juicy IPA (gold in the 2020 Argentine Beer Cup).
It is regarded as one of the best craft beer bars, boasting a total of 28 rotating taps, perfect for those on a quest for the ultimate combinations on the craft beer route in Buenos Aires. Different offerings from the best breweries coexist here, such as Juguetes Perdidos, Beata, and Lucius. To accompany such a diverse selection of craft beer, their menu features classic sides like burgers, potatoes, and platters, along with dishes such as potato pie and vegan options. Another notable aspect of Gepetto is that it is a pet-friendly space, so you can bring your furry friends along to enjoy a delicious craft beer and some snacks.

Cerdos Voladores
Cerdos Voladores offers a unique proposal within the craft breweries of Buenos Aires and the craft beer world. To discover it, you must continue your journey along the beer route to the northern zone, where it has two locations: San Isidro and San Fernando. At this cult craft brewery, you’ll find a wide variety of styles, featuring the best breweries in the country, such as Sir Hopper, Juguetes Perdidos, Beata, and Minga. They currently have their own IPA: Ipachinook.
However, Cerdos Voladores has a distinctive feature that sets it apart from other craft beer bars in Buenos Aires: exclusive taps for serving nitrogenated styles. An example is Beata’s Nitro Scottish, which boasts an incredibly dense and creamy foam. Plus, their homemade burgers are exceptional. They are plentiful and delicious and come with many options to choose from, allowing you to pair them with your selected beer. You will also find vegetarian, vegan, and Gluten-free burgers on the menu. Craving for something else? The menu offers additional options such as wraps, salads, schnitzels, and sandwiches, in addition to classic snacks.
The atmosphere and service stand out, making it one of the best craft breweries in Buenos Aires. If its name seems striking to you, we should mention that Cerdos Voladores refers to the album “Animals” by Pink Floyd, which is reflected in the decoration and its entire concept, as its venues are known as “the pigsties”.
